Long Time No Post

No doubt about it, I'm a bad blogger........... Normal service may be resumed shortly though.

Today,

1 Patient who had drunk too much, been in a fight, lost, been in A&E, discharged at 4.am, to go home, have a 'domestic' punch a glass plated door, and oh joy, end up in A&E again for hours and then into plastic surgery for deep cuts to his hand and wrist.

1 Patient who hadn't been 'handed over' to the hospital ward we were told to take her to, cue irate phone calls from a very helpful registrar, who found her a bed only three wards further away.

1 Patient who had been picked up, collapsed in a shopping centre, 82 year old, single, lives on her own (but probably has cats), with no next of kin. Who refused treatment, Blood Tests, EGC etc and couldn't understand why she was in hospital, and wanted to pay for transport to a ward where hopefully she will get the treatment to find out why she collapsed. We hung around beyond our finishing time, to make sure she had her tea, before we moved her.... Probably the best meal she'll have had in ages.

And other assorted 'oldies' - a nice sort of day, and now I'm on call until Tuesday, yay!!
